Annual Christmas Parent Performance
REMINDER: Our Annual Christmas Parent Performance is THIS Friday (Dec. 16) at 6:30 pm at the LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Church Building. All non-competition classes (dance and gymnastics) will be performing. Students need to arrive by 6:00 pm. ALL students need to wear any Christmas colored shirt (red, green, or white) and black bottoms (pants, shorts, capris, tutu, etc). Gymnasts are asked to wear their hair in two french braids. Dancers can wear their hair any style. *Dancers, if you would like to review routines with Dana before the performance, please arrive by 5:30 pm.
We would like to remind all dancers that performed in the light parade, they will be performing the “light parade routine” for the final number at this performance. Remember to bring TWO flashlights and wear a RED Santa hat. *If you are not able to attend this performance, please let Dana know ASAP. Thanks!
*Some jazz/ballet classes will have hats/headbands to wear for their performance. All of these items MUST be turned in before leaving the performance.

Attention Competition Team Members and Parents:
We have extended the payment deadline for the competition fees. They will now be due on or before December 8. Our team will attend TWO competitions. The competition fees are $14 per routine per competition for each dancer.
If your child is enrolled in multiple classes, please add all their class totals together and pay by December 8. If your child is participating in the jerky fundraiser the credit amount they earn can go toward their competition fees.

Food Drive & Sub-For-Santa
This year we will be participating in a food drive & Sub-For-Santa. For items brought in, dancers/gymnasts will receive tickets to be entered into a drawing. Items must be turned in to Dana or Angella at the fair building. The contest will run from now until December 14th, to win spectacular prizes. Prizes include: ballet shoes, dance bags, coupons for FREE pom/cheer tuition for the rest of the season, and many more! There will also be a prize for the class that brings in the most items. Please see the list below for items needed and how many tickets students will receive for each item.

Christmas Parent Performance:
It's time for our Annual Christmas Parent Performance. The performance will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday December 16 at the LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Church Gym. All non-competition classes (dance and gymnastics) will be learning Christmas routines to perform for their parents. As always, if competition team members would like to participate they will need to come to one of the non-competition dance classes. LIGHT PARADE:
Duchesne's light parade is THIS Saturday (December 3). Line up is at 5:30 pm behind the swimming pool. DANCER'S NEED TO ARRIVE ON TIME. Remember to bring TWO flashlights with NEW batteries (the lights will be on during the entire parade). Dancers need to wear a RED SANTA HAT, and dress warm. If you have team warm-ups, please wear them (be sure to wear extra layers underneath).
The light parade will end at the Cliff Mickelson building (fair building). They will have Santa there for children to meet. Parents, please pick up your dancer at this location. Dancers will not be able to leave without a parent.

PARENT/FAN T-SHIRTS & DANCE BAGS:
T-shirts are available for pre-order. These are great to show support for your dancer! We LOVE to see our supporters stand out at competitions and performances. Anyone can order these shirts- parents, siblings, dancers, grandparents, etc. As always, we have two t-shirt designs: Women & Men styles. T-shirts are $16 each. We also have team dance bags available for purchase. These are great to have at competitions & performances to help keep your costumes & accessories organized. The bags we have are: hanging garment bags ($30 each), round duffel bags ($20 each), and small tote bags ($10 each). All bags have our team name & a dancer silhouette on them in lime green. TEAM WARM-UPS:
Every team member is required to have the same team warm-ups. We realize some team members have out grown their warm-ups from a previous year; therefore we are starting a “Warm-Up List.” If you have out grown your warm-ups and would like to sell them to another team member, please come fill out your name, phone number, size of warm-ups, etc on the sheet. By entering your information on the “Warm-Up List,” you agree to have other team members/parents contact you about your warm-ups. If you are interested in purchasing used warm-ups, you may request a copy of the list to contact others about their warm-ups. All dancers who do not already have the team warm-ups (jacket and pant) by October 11, will need to pay their deposit toward new warm-ups. *Fund raiser credit can be used toward ONLY NEW warm-up costs.

Dress Code:
All Classes:
We require all students to wear dance attire to EVERY class. It is very important for dancers to wear appropriate attire while dancing, to ensure that they can dance and stretch properly. Dancers who do not conform to the dress code will be unable to participate.
Acceptable dance wear: leotard & tights, leggings, spandex pants, shorts, or capris with a form fitting top or leotard.
Dancers are NOT allowed to wear JEANS or baggy clothes.
ALL dancers will be required to wear some type of dance shoe.
Hair needs to be pulled back away from your face, no loose bangs.
Competition Team:

We have specific Team Practice Attire that competition team members are REQUIRED to wear to EVERY class/practice. There is a team practice top but dancers may wear any plain black bottoms (shorts, capris, pants) that are appropriate for dancing.

Duchesne County Fair Parade
Our dancers put on a SPECTACULAR performance for the parade! Way to go! I'm so proud of all of my dancers for performing so well and sticking through it. Even though it was so hot during the parade, everyone kept their smiles on their faces and performed FANTASTIC! What a great way to finish our summer season!

DRILL TECHNIQUE CLASS
This class is strongly recommended for drill team members wanting to improve their technique at an intermediate/advanced level. Dancers will work specifically on steps/movements that are in drill team routines such as: back leaps, side leaps, fuettes, headstands, toe rolls, etc. Dancers will also work on ballet technique at the barre as well as various turns, extensions & more!
*All dancers who completed this class last summer, made the cut for all THREE drill team competition routines.*
This class will be held on THURSDAYS from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm (June & July). Class starts JUNE 9.

SUMMER DANCE CLASSES:
2011 Summer Classes
Summer Performance Team:
Our Summer Performance Team will perform at various community events including: Relay for Life, KLiC Cancer Walk, and the Duchesne County Fair Parade. Dancers will learn modern jazz & basic ballet technique. A performance tank-top will need to be purchased in order to perform at these events. Dancers will also need black shorts, white socks, & white gym shoes.
Jazz/Ballet Classes:
We have two age grouped classes in jazz/ballet. Pre-Jazz/Pre-Ballet is for ages 2-7, and Jazz/Ballet I is for ages 8-12. Dancers will learn modern jazz & beginning ballet technique.
Gymnastics Classes:
We have two ability based gymnastics classes. Gymnastics I is a “Beginning/Pre-Walkover” class. This class is for dancers who are very new to gymnastics and/or are not yet able to perform back-walkovers or front-walkovers. Gymnastics II is a Intermediate/Advanced class. This class is for dancers who are already able to perform back- walkovers and front-walkovers.
Ballet Technique (Intermediate/Advanced Level):
This class is strongly recommended for any drill team member or any Intermediate/Advanced dancer wanting to improve their ballet technique. Dancers in this class will work on ballet technique at the barre as well as various leaps, turns, extensions, & more.
Drill Technique (For current or soon-to-be drill team members):

3rd Annual Spring Recital
Recital Information
Our Spring Recital will start at 6:00 pm THIS SATURDAY, May 21st @ Duchesne High School in the old gym. (Old gym is behind the school). Doors will not be open to spectators until 5:30 pm (everyone needs to enter through the front doors of the gym). Please inform anyone who you have invited to the recital.
All dancers need to come ready, warmed-up/stretched, & in their costume by 5:40 pm (if you are in the “Opener” arrive by 5:30 pm). All Non-Competition dancers can wear their hair however they would like as long as it is away from their face. Performance make-up is optional but highly recommended. EDE Minis, Petites, and Seniors need to wear their hair and make-up competition style. If you cannot do a french braid, you need to have a regular braid in place of the french braid.
We need all dancers to be lined up AT LEAST ONE NUMBER BEFORE THEIR ROUTINE. If dancers are not lined up at the correct time, they may miss their performance. We will not be able stop the recital to wait for a specific dancer(s) to be lined up. PLEASE BE ON TIME.
