DRILL REVIEW:

Junior Company & Senior Company 2 will be performing at the DHS drill review THIS MONDAY (Feb. 13). Dancers need to arrive NO LATER THAN 6:15 pm (drill review starts at 7pm). Dancers MUST arrive ready and wearing their warm-ups over their costumes. Costumes will be handed out at mandatory gym practice on Monday.

Reminder: Junior Company and Senior Company 2 have MANDATORY gym practice on Monday Feb. 13 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm at DES gym. THIS IS A DRESS REHEARSAL. Costumes, shoes, & tights will be handed out at this practice. If you did not order new shoes & tights, remember to bring them to dress rehearsal. Dancers MUST be paid up to date with all dues (tuition, costumes, etc) in order to receive their shoes, tights, or costumes. Dancers who are NOT paid up to date will NOT receive their costumes and will not be able to perform.

HAIR & MAKE-UP: (Dancer's must have their hair/make-up in the correct style for DRESS REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE).

Junior Company: Hair needs to be parted on the left and slicked back into a low messy bun on the left side. Use LOTS of bobby pins & hair spray, no “fly-aways”. Make-up needs to be dark! Please wear dark eye shadow (browns, black, grey - NOT blue), black eyeliner, black mascara, red lipstick, blush, etc.

Senior Company 2: Hair needs to be in the “mo-hawk style.” Pull bangs back into a small poof and secure with bobby pins. Part hair horizontally into three sections and slick each section into a tight ponytail. Then take each ponytail and make a messy bun. Use LOT of bobby pins & hair spray, no “fly-aways.” Make-up needs to be dark! Please wear dark eye shadow (browns, black, grey - NOT blue), black eyeliner, black mascara, red lipstick, blush, etc.

Annual Christmas Parent Performance

REMINDER: Our Annual Christmas Parent Performance is THIS Friday (Dec. 16) at 6:30 pm at the LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Church Building. All non-competition classes (dance and gymnastics) will be performing. Students need to arrive by 6:00 pm. ALL students need to wear any Christmas colored shirt (red, green, or white) and black bottoms (pants, shorts, capris, tutu, etc). Gymnasts are asked to wear their hair in two french braids. Dancers can wear their hair any style. *Dancers, if you would like to review routines with Dana before the performance, please arrive by 5:30 pm.

We would like to remind all dancers that performed in the light parade, they will be performing the “light parade routine” for the final number at this performance. Remember to bring TWO flashlights and wear a RED Santa hat. *If you are not able to attend this performance, please let Dana know ASAP. Thanks!

*Some jazz/ballet classes will have hats/headbands to wear for their performance. All of these items MUST be turned in before leaving the performance.

Christmas Parent Performance:

It's time for our Annual Christmas Parent Performance. The performance will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday December 16 at the LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Church Gym. All non-competition classes (dance and gymnastics) will be learning Christmas routines to perform for their parents. As always, if competition team members would like to participate they will need to come to one of the non-competition dance classes. Further details (what to wear, hair style, etc) will be announced soon.

LIGHT PARADE:

Duchesne's light parade is THIS Saturday (December 3). Line up is at 5:30 pm behind the swimming pool. DANCER'S NEED TO ARRIVE ON TIME. Remember to bring TWO flashlights with NEW batteries (the lights will be on during the entire parade). Dancers need to wear a RED SANTA HAT, and dress warm. If you have team warm-ups, please wear them (be sure to wear extra layers underneath).


The light parade will end at the Cliff Mickelson building (fair building). They will have Santa there for children to meet. Parents, please pick up your dancer at this location. Dancers will not be able to leave without a parent.

Minis: Remember to be to the parade line up by 4:30 pm TOMORROW (Saturday). Wear your summer outfit and have your hair performance style.

Petites, Juniors/Seniors: Remember to be to the parade line up by 4:15 pm TOMORROW (Saturday). Wear your summer outfit and have your hair performance style. Performance make-up is optional.

**Remember to bring a water bottle. Please be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day so you will stay hydrated.

PERFORMANCE FOR SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

ATTENTION COMPETITION DANCERS: We have personally been asked to perform at the Duchesne Elementary School on FRIDAY APRIL 15th for a school assembly. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PRACTICING YOUR ROUTINES! You will receive notes at your next class with all the details!

We are very thankful for this opportunity to perform! Dancers please make sure to personally thank the staff at your school.

MOCK COMPETITION

Attention Dancers & Parents: THIS Saturday (March 12) we will be having MANDATORY Gym Practice/Mock Competition from 9 am till NOON at the Duchesne 1st & 3rd Ward Church Gym. THIS PRACTICE IS MANDATORY, DANCERS WILL NOT BE EXCUSED FOR MISSING THIS PRACTICE! Dancers need to come wearing their team warm-ups over their team practice attire. Bring ALL of your costumes, costume accessories, shoes, tights, warm-ups, etc. Come with your hair & make-up in competition style when you arrive (see below for required make-up & hair styles). If dancers need help with their hair and/or make-up they need to meet at the church building by 8:15 am! Bring all of your own hair & make-up supplies. Come as ready as possible. If you only need help with hair, make sure you already have on all your make-up & vice versa. If any moms are willing to help with hair and/or make-up, please come at 8:15 am. We will practice all routines the first 1 ½ -2 hours and the last 1 – 1 ½ hours will be our Mock Competition. We will also be taking team pictures throughout practice. There will be judges to critique the girls on their performances. We need to be as prepared & professional as we would be at competition. DO NOT BE LATE!


TEAM MAKE-UP: ALL Dancers need to wear DARK eyeshadow (browns/grays), BLACK mascara, BLACK eyeliner (top & bottom), dark RED lipstick, and LOTS of blush! Performance make-up is much heavier/darker than you would usually wear it. ABSOLUTELY NO GLITTER!


HAIR: All dancers need to wear their hair parted on the LEFT side (2-3 inches back) and FRENCH BRAIDED from the “part” to the edge of your forehead right as it starts to curve. Secure the braid with a CLEAR hair elastic. NO BANGS, braid them in! Then (after the french braid is in) MINIS need to slick their hair back into a TIGHT HIGH ponytail with lots of BIG CURLS. Then (after the french braid is in) PETITES & SENIORS need to slick their hair into a TIGHT ponytail in the middle of the back of your head. Then pull the hair into a TIGHT messy bun.


Make sure you do not have any “fly-aways”. Use lots of bobby pins, hair spray, & hair elastics that match your hair color. Practice doing your hair before our Mock Competition and make sure it will stay in place tightly for the entire performance.


The Mock Competition will start between 10:45 AM – 11:00 AM. Parents are welcome to watch the Mock Competition portion of practice ONLY! This is a closed dress rehearsal/gym practice! Parents coming to watch the Mock Competition will NOT be allowed to enter the gym or stage area until 10:45 AM. THIS DRESS REHEARSAL/MOCK COMPETITION IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Only parents of team dancers are allowed to watch the mock competition, no other relatives, friends, etc. Please try not to bring children with you, as it is a distraction to the dancers & we have limited seating.

SUMMER DANCE CLASSES

Attention Parents & Dancers:
We are trying to get an estimate of how many dancers will be enrolling in Summer Dance Classes with us. Please specify if you would like to enroll in our SUMMER PERFORMANCE TEAM, regular weekly classes or separate 2-3 day dance camps.

Our team has been invited to perform at the RELAY FOR LIFE in Vernal. We are hoping to have our Summer Performance Team perform at this event, the Duchesne County Fair Parade & more! Please let us know if you are interested.

Dancers ages 2-18 are welcome to join!

EDE SENIORS:

ATTENTION EDE SENIORS & PARENTS: Our mandatory team practice on Tuesday (Feb 22) is a dress rehearsal for all Seniors. You will receive your costume on TUESDAY if all dues are paid up to date. If you ordered shoes & tights, they must also be paid for in full to receive them. Remember if you are not paid up to date, you will not be able to perform.


DRESS REHEARSAL: The first 30-45 minutes of practice you will need to be wearing your team practice attire (green/white tank, black bottoms, & dance shoes) & have your hair pulled back in performance style. Half way through practice Seniors will be allowed to QUICKLY change into their costumes. Do not forget to bring your shoes & tights.


DHS DRILL REVIEW PERFORMANCE: All Seniors will need to arrive READY TO PERFORM, WEARING YOUR WARM-UPS OVER YOUR COSTUME at 6:00 pm. DO NOT BE LATE! There is no admission charge for the dancers performing, however there is a $3 admission charge for all spectators. If parents come early, they will still need to pay the admission fee. This is a fund raiser for the drill team. The review starts at 7 pm. Parents, if you ordered a parent t-shirt, please feel free to wear it to any and all performances to show your support for our team. Parent t-shirts will be handed out Tuesday at practice.

**We want to make a good impression with our routine, appearance and professionalism. When we go to any performance or competition we want to be the most professional team in attendance. Always be on time, ready to perform. ALWAYS wear your warm-ups over your costume AT ALL TIMES (before AND after your performance). Always cheer for other performers, have good sportsmanship & NEVER walk in front of a performing group. We want to treat others the way we want to be treated. Always double check your bags for all your costume pieces, shoes, tights, hair & make-up before you leave home & before you leave the performance. Do not leave anything at home or at a performance/competition. As always, perform your personal best, have great showmanship, & most of all have fun!

DHS DRILL REVIEW

ATTENTION EDE SENIORS & PARENTS:

We have been asked to perform one routine at the DHS Drill Review held February 22 at 7 pm. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We may be having longer practices or extra practices (possibly gym practice) so that we are prepared to put on a spectacular performance. Extra practices & any further details about our performance will be announced next week.

To perform, all dancers must be paid up to date with any payments that are due before our performance date. Also, as stated in our contract: If a dancer misses ANY practice THREE weeks prior to a performance/competition they may be excluded from the performance or competition due to of lack of rehearsal. Please plan to attend every practice. We try our best to schedule practices that work for everyone.
